What Does the Award Mean to 1st Focus Homecare?

Scott went on to explain why he set up 1st Focus Homecare - “As a serving paramedic I am called out on emergency calls, and a lot of these are for the elderly that have maybe had a fall due to not having enough support at home. Since becoming a paramedic 15 years ago I have witnessed some very poor living conditions for the elderly and in some sad cases these people have been receiving care which is below the standards that I would expect for anyone. I knew that with my experience in a pre-hospital emergency setting that I could ensure a high standard of care that in some cases I felt was lacking, that is how 1st Focus Homecare was born.”

Eating healthily is important at any stage of life, but it becomes more important as you get older. But it is not just about the food itself but also the preparation.
One of the most common care requests we get is in assisting with preparing meals two to three times a day, and if needed assisting people to eat if it is something they find difficult to do physically.
House Work and Home Help
The final element where we see many Edinburgh seniors needing home help support is with household chores.
For many seniors, it does become physically impossible to clean and tidy the house, and a lot of people do not understand that having a tidy living environment makes for a less stressful environment.
We help with cleaning the user's living room, and kitchen bathroom and also washing clothes and bed linen where required.

Costs for care services differ from user to user, but we are very transparent with our customers and have no additional fees like other care companies.
Our hourly rates range from £30 - £33 per hour depending on the services required. We do not charge any set-up fee and we do not have any administration fees on hourly rates. We have a transparent single pricing per hour.
