ANGELA FALCONER HNC — CO-FOUNDER
I am Co-Founder and Owner of 1st Focus Homecare, and have been involved with all aspects of the business from working as a Care Assistant, a Supervisor, a Manager, working in Recruitment and HR and Quality Assurance, as well as day to day running and business management.
My previous career was in Media, working at Channel 4 when I lived in London. After having my daughter and son, and moving back to Scotland, I was looking for a career change and started working with NHS and in a Hospice as a Care Assistant. I care deeply about delivering an exception service, and also looking after our care team so that they can look after others.
I hold a BA (Hons) Communication, a Certificate in Counselling, an HNC in Healthcare & SVQ3 Health & Social Care. I am currently working towards my SVQ4 in Health and Social Care. I understand the challenges and rewards of working in care, and have used this knowledge to help build the team we have now.
My dad had early onset dementia, diagnosed before 60 and he had a really difficult last few years in Psychiatric Care and a Care Home. I understand how hard it is to look after loved ones, and to know what is the right thing to do. I think my Dad would have been proud of what I have achieved in creating 1st Focus Homecare.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, yoga, going to the gym, swimming, and cycling. We also have a family dog Lolly and I have recently signed up to volunteer with Therapets in my spare time.
